How to Treat Cracked Heels

Recipe for treating cracked heels

Cracked heels are not only unsightly, they are also painful. I know because I used to have them and I am prone to have them if I don’t take care of them.

Well, I also get occasional foot spa or foot scrub treatments primarily of this issue. That is because I stay most of the time in our bedroom and I just go around barefoot. And we do not have a carpet while our floor is made of parquet wood tiles. The cracks on my heels are deep, like chasms in the Grand Canyon. They are also dark because dirt gets stuck between them. They are really ugly.

I know I should have taken photos before starting my treatment so that you could have seen them and the improvement.

Anyway, my only recipe for treating cracked heels consists of petroleum jelly and socks. Yep! Every night, I apply a generous amount on my feet and then wear socks over it. I live it overnight. I could also do this in the daytime because I just stay home but it can get really hot. So I just do this during night time.

After about 10 days, the skin on my feet are softer and the cracks on my heels have been reduced to fine lines. And I have not had foot spa! Try this at home. Your cracked heels will eventually be healed.

Angelina Jolie plays supportive wife (or partner) to Brad Pitt when the latter’s movie, Moneyball, premiered in Japan.

In the photo above from Yahoo News, Angelina was statuesque in a simple cut red dress that accentuates her lithe body. But what caught my eye was her really flawless make up and really red lipstick.

It is a natural look that highlighted her best asset that is coveted by women all over the world–the Angelina Jolie lips. The foundation was just right that her complexion looked natural and flawless. While the lipstick was a dark red, it completed her skin color and also her dress. This was perfect if I may say so.

I wonder what they did on her face–I mean the products that they applied. I know that the natural look is kinda hard to achieve because you have to apply the right products and just the right strokes. Good job to her make up artist!

Remove Calluses from Feet with Baking Soda

Free your feet from unsightly and uncomfortable calluses and cracks.

Baking soda is actually a versatile ingredient that is found in many households. It is needed in baking and it is also effective as a household cleaner. Some people also use it to deodorize their refrigerators.

But do you know that it is also good for a foot spa? If you have a foot spa machine, you can add 2 Tablespoons of baking powder in the water. Then sit back and soak your feet. The vibrating movement of the machine and the cleaning powers of the baking soda would really be effective in softening and whitening your feet. The surface dirt and skin would also be exfoliated.

If you don’t have a foot spa machine, just fill up a basin with warm water and mix 2 Tbsps. of baking power in it. Soak for about 15 minutes and then you can start scrubbing your feet with your foot scrub products and a pumice.

While the soaking with baking soda can already clean the feet, your feet will be much smoother if you scrub it further. Purchase some good foot spa products that you can use at home, like a foot scrub and stone pumice or a sander. Then apply some foot lotion.

Do this once a week to maintain a clean and supple feet that is free from unsightly calluses and painful cracks on the heels. This will be your home foot spa regimen. Follow this with a pedicure and your feet are ready to wear open-sandals and flipflops.
