Getting a Perm

My permed hair

My hair is not very consistent. On the surface, you will see that it is straight, but underneath, it is wavy. Since it is quite unmanageable, I end up just tying my hair together at the back. That way, it is away from my face and neck because it is quite hot around here.

But recently, I got so sick and tired of my confusing hair that I decided to have it layered and curled. Yup! I got a perm! And it is not digital perm but the trusty old way of curling your hair–with those odorous chemicals!

I so love my hair now. It is wash and wear and I don’t brush it. It feels like a new me. And you wonder how hair can just affect a person, no?

To take care of my perm so that it won’t get damaged, I used L’Oreal shampoo and a lot of conditioner everyday. I don’t comb my hair either. hehe Now, it is literally a wash-and-wear hairstyle! Except for the conditioner, it is also very low maintenance. I think I will have my hair curled every 15 months from now on. I think that as long as you take care of your perm, it will not damage your hair. :D

The Bumpit Look by Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani and the Bumpit Look.

Singer Gwen Stefaniis often known not only for her music but also for her unique and sometimes eccentric style. She is also known for the “Bumpit look”, where her hair is arranged so that it looks like a huge bump on her head.

But apparently, not too many men like that look. In magazine article I read, they do not argue that Gwen is really hot, but they have a cold reception for her up-do. It seems that they do not like something that makes the head look bigger than it should be.

Oh well, what do you think of the Bumpit hairstyle of Gwen Stefani?

Achieving Really Straight Hippie Hair

It is really nice to look at straight hair because it is neat. But with hair like mine, this is quite difficult to achieve.

You see, I do have straight hair if you look at the outer layer. But if you look further inside, the rest of my hair are wavy, hence the volume. But my hair can look untidy sometimes that I really would like to achieve the straight hair photographed above.

The website advises that in order to achieve a straight hairstyle like this, you can apply a styling lotion like Fekkai Glossing Cream onto damp hair. The hair should then be parted in the middle and should be blow-dried while using a paddle brush. After that, the hair should be subjected to the flat iron. You should work on your hair in one-inch increments. So if you have long hair, this could take quite some time. It would be good to have someone assist you on this.
